Troubleshooting for MFR 1.0 (purchased before May 2010)

Noisy:
This is kind of a tough one. I've tried really hard to completely eliminate the sliding noise. I've used several different materials, coatings, and lubricant and I feel like I got pretty close. Biggest problem is that the design relies on friction, so anything that makes the ring slide better, can also affect the function of the entire unit. Anyway, I don't recommend lubrication, but I have seen many people do it without trouble. (The key is to use very small amounts of oil/grease and apply it as far from the pin and o-ring). If you get some on the o-ring, the MFR will not work, and it will require a lot of cleaning with soapy water or whatever depending on the type of blubrication used.

Still working on this stuff.
